Bowie Mural and Art

(limited prints and variations available)

I grew up with David Bowie, so when he passed away at way to early of an age I knew I have to do something special in his memory.  A gallery in Hollywood offered me a little wall space to do my first mural, so I know what the perfect tribute mural would be.   I used a lot of my collaging technique ripping apart a magazine that profiled his life, so that if you stand up close to the work you can read articles about his life, but then I did what I usually don’t do in my regular works, and painted free hand over, to detail it out.  Because of the large scale it would be harder for me to completely detail it out with cut out pieces of paper.  I then took a super 100 plus megapixel image of the wall, and built an artwork from it that I displayed in a pop arts festival in Downtown Los Angeles.
